  • Summary

  • This Audible Original is supported by the IMDA.

Audible presents Dance of Fear & Vulnerability, an Audible Original. This self-help podcast is about fear and vulnerability - that awkward dance between confronting the unknown and being open to what we may find, so we can be truly seen and heard. It aims to help us recognise fear and confront it, instead of letting it overtake our lives, causing us to act out in anger, avoid and deny it. Important and social issues and true stories will be discussed to demonstrate the pervasiveness of fear and its impact.

The podcast will also introduce the idea of vulnerability - the antidote to fear. Vulnerability is being ok with not knowing, and the willingness to be open to all our feelings, including the ugly in-between stuff that eventually generates the pathway to self-awareness and healing.

Fear, and its antidote, vulnerability explained.

Good sharing from the podcaster, especially when he shared personal examples and ends off with practical tips on how to understand and manage our emotions.

A helpful discussion about how to handle fear

I found the approach of being vulnerable and embracing of fear to be very refreshing. It’s much needed in our Asian society where discussing fear is seen as taboo. I also liked the practical suggestions on how to stay with and breathe through the fear!

Bravo!

As a fellow profession counsellor myself, I see the efficacious endeavor of acknowledging the presence of fear in situations and being vulnerable, as James mentioned, the antidote to it when being in the healing journey with my clients. Looking forward to more content from James.

Soulful and insightful

As my title says, soulful and insightful exploration and take on fear, which is very often a suppressed and denied emotion in Singapore, because of the ridicule that comes from others more conditioned in the ways and whims of this society than us.
