He also gave an update on the program’s upcoming activities with the World Cup and CITY SC’s “Summer of Soccer”, working with “Soccer Without Borders”, and how people can get involved.

    During the Y98 pregame show, Dale Schilly caught up with CITY Head Coach, Yoann Damet, ahead of the team’s last of their 3-game road stretch out to the West Coast to face the Seattle Sounders. Coach Damet talked about lessons learned for their first re-match of the season and how both teams are very different from that first match at Energizer Park in March. Damet also talked about the team’s desire to go deep into the Open Cup, plus his pride in the team’s character in performance, continuing to play within their identity no matter the result in any minute of the match.

    During the KMOX halftime show, Jen Siess visited in-booth with Jeff Robben who was the Goalkeeper for the Busch Seniors team that won the Open Cup Championship in 1988. Jeff talked about his experience as a young amateur player pitching up against former pros on that last St. Louis team to win the oldest ongoing national cup competition in American soccer. He also shared thoughts about his continuing journey in The Beautiful Game and why St. Louis is the true Soccer Capital with the most Open Cup wins of any city in the US.
