This modern black comedy crime classic that elevated the Coen brothers to A list level filmmakers. The film features Frances McDormand as Marge Gunderson, a pregnant Minnesota police chief investigating a triple homicide that takes place after a desperate car salesman played by William H. Macy hires two dim-witted criminals in Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormar) to kidnap his wife in order to extort a hefty ransom from her wealthy father Wade, played by Harve Presnell. Steve and John go thru the movie scene by scene to break down the direction, acting, story beats, score, action sequences and more.

Steve and John provide a careful and thoughtful analysis through conversation in every single episode of this podcast. They take the time when needed and explore the smallest of moments if it is important. They laugh often and genuinely listen to each other. They feel like friends, and on top of that I learn so much from each episode. I have listened to the Cine-Files for such a long time and have loved their evolution over the years and I look forward to many more episodes, years and laughs in the future.
