The film focuses on a clash of wills between the seasoned commanding officer of a U.S. nuclear missile submarine Captain Ramsey (Hackman) and his new executive officer Lt. Commander Hunter (Denzel), arising from conflicting interpretations of an order to launch their missiles. Steve and John go thru the movie scene by scene to break down the direction, acting, storylines, cinematography, score, action sequences and debate the motivations of Ramsey and Hunter in this tense and taut action thriller.
