Welcome to "The Caring Advisor", I'm so glad you're here! I'm Elizabeth Brickman, "The Caring Advisor"! This podcast is for those who long to experience financial happiness God's way. I'm a former finance professional, credentialed in biblical finance. Ten years ago, I left private practice to write books, because I want all of us, not just those who sat at my desk, to develop an increasingly wonderful and holy relationship with money. We will talk about how to resist financial headwinds that come against us, how to make wise decisions, and how to avoid accidental poverty. I'll share stories about my financial faith heroes, clients who humbled me, inspired me, and taught me. These are everyday men and women just like you who got it right. And they serve as models for all of us about who we can be and how we can financially grow in Christ. Don't miss an episode, subscribe on your favorite podcast platform, so you'll be notified immediately when a new episode airs. • 106. "Master Your Money Emotions… before they master you"
    Mar 25 2026

Emotions are often the hidden force behind financial stress.
Master them—and everything else begins to change.
Whether you feel secure… or stretched thin…
your emotions can quietly take control of your financial decisions.

In this episode, Elizabeth Brickman shares practical and biblical wisdom for managing the
emotional turbulence that money can create. Drawing from 25 years as a financial advisor, she
explains why financial distress is often caused less by the numbers themselves and more by the
    emotional reactions surrounding them.

    In This Episode

    • Why money triggers powerful emotional reactions
    • How emotional surges can lead to poor financial decisions
    • Why your identity must never be tied to financial outcomes
    • How regret can quietly trap people in financial paralysis
    • The biblical approach to overcoming financial fear
    • Why gratitude stabilizes both your heart and your decisions
When emotions are wisely managed, money becomes a tool instead of a tyrant — and financial
decisions become calmer, clearer, and more faithful.
The goal is not to eliminate emotions. The goal is to lead them wisely.
And with God’s help, you absolutely can.
