From 1990 to 2000, the Republic of Ireland featured five one cap wonders which, if we do say so ourselves, make up quite the decent 5-a-side team. Join Conor and Johnny as they discuss they five players good enough to play for the Republic of Ireland but who sadly failed to make it back for a second date. We'll discuss the cult hero goalkeeper good enough to play in a cup final, the centre back who had to fight off nationality suspicions, a cracking Premier League Caption, a Scotsman turned Irishman and a lower league cult hero. Have we given away too much? Nah! Also shout outs for two players who banged around Ireland's youth set ups but never progressed to the internationals—included because Conor loves a tryer!

  • Saipan: The Immediate Aftermath
    Dec 22 2025

Join Conor and Johnny as they discuss the immediate aftermath of the Saipan saga. Daddy Roy has gone home to Ireland and the country is losing the run of itself. There's protests outside the FAI headquarters, bishops calling for a resolution and people camping out at Cork airport. Good times eh? Oh there's also the small matter of an underwhelming pre-tournament friendly which injures several players and an upcoming World Cup game against Cameroon for Mick McCarthy et al. to prepare for. Pressure? Pressures for tires!
