  • Summary

  • During the last years of Jackson's presidency, the economy flourished. The national debt was paid in full, industry and agriculture boomed. But when Martin Van Buren assumed the presidency, he inherited an economic disaster. The divide between rich and poor was growing and people were starting to lose their patience. The country was so on edge that the threat of increase in the price of flour caused riots in Manhattan. How this happened and more, in today's episode. American History Tellers-unorganized podcasts

So far I have listened to the Age of Jackson and Prohibition. Both have been enjoyable to listen to, the narrator has a wonderful voice and the information was knowledgeable. My only complaint is when I'm looking the podcasts up, they are all over the place and sometimes not together. I wish they would name their shows in numerical order since recording them in a proper order did not happen. This way I would not have to spend time trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be listening to next.
