  • Episode 160: Buddy’s Bodega: Delivering Heat, Culture, and Consistency in NYC
    Dec 9 2025

This week, JP taps in with Buddy’s Bodega — one of the most respected, influential, and culture-setting cannabis delivery brands in New York City. In a city where the market has always been fast, loud, and unpredictable, Buddy’s stood out by doing the opposite: staying consistent, staying reliable, and keeping nothing but high-quality product in rotation. They didn’t just deliver — they set a new standard for what NYC cannabis could be.

Before legalization, Buddy’s Bodega built their reputation the hard way: through trust, authentic connections, and always showing up with the kind of heat New Yorkers weren’t used to getting on demand. They bridged West Coast quality with East Coast hustle, and their brand quickly became synonymous with your favorite plug’s plug.

Now, as New York’s legal market continues to evolve, Buddy’s remains one of the few legacy-born brands navigating this new era without losing their identity. They’ve stayed tapped in with the culture, stayed committed to quality, and stayed moving smarter as the industry shifts around them.

This episode dives into the Buddy’s origin story, their impact on the New York cannabis scene, and what it really takes to build a respected delivery empire in the most competitive city in the world.

  • Episode 159: Ball Family Farms CEO Chris Ball — From South Central to Social Equity Success
    Dec 2 2025

Chris Ball is a real one — born in South Central LA, athlete, hustler, legacy operator, and now the founder and CEO of Ball Family Farms, one of the most respected cannabis brands in California.

Before the licenses and the spotlight, Chris was deep in the traditional market. A federal sting — Operation Sudden Fall — caught him up, and he sat down for a few months while fighting his case. Instead of folding, Chris leveled up: he got a steady job, stayed on good behavior, and when the case finally went to trial, the judge gave him time served because of the way he carried himself throughout the process.

From there, he came home with a mission. Chris became one of the first Social Equity cultivators in Los Angeles and built Ball Family Farms from scratch — a brand built on discipline, clean product, authenticity, and family-rooted values. Today, their strains like Nino Brown, Daniel LaRusso, and Clubber Lang are staples in shops across the state.

This episode is street, inspiring, and real — a blueprint for turning pressure into purpose and legacy hustle into licensed success.

    🔑 What’s Inside This Episode
    • Chris’ South Central roots and early hustle
    • From athletics to the legacy cannabis game
    • The DEA sting, the legal fight, and how he got time served
    • Rebuilding from zero with discipline and intention

  • Episode 157: The Dallas Growers Club Journey – Phenos, Travel, Hustle & Heart | Good PizzZa Podcast
    Nov 18 2025

Episode 157 – Dallas Growers Club

This week, JP sits down with Joe from Dallas Growers Club — and no, it ain’t Texas… he reps Dallas, Oregon, and he’s carving out his lane one fire cut at a time.

Joe’s path is anything but typical. He grew up between the Bay Area and Taipei, Taiwan, giving him a global perspective most growers never get. He speaks fluent Mandarin and learned early business game watching his pops run a women’s shoe company — lessons in hustle, people, and discipline that still shape him today.

After playing college football, life took a turn that led him straight into the world of cultivation. Through a girlfriend, he met the grower who became his first real mentor, the person who opened the door to everything Joe’s doing now. From there, he hit the road:
California → New York → Oregon, soaking up game, building skills, and learning what real cultivation takes in different parts of the country.

Joe’s holding it down in Oregon, always hunting for the next new hitter and staying active at every cannabis event he can pull up to. He moves with love for the plant, shares game with the people, and keeps the fire in rotation. Keep an eye out for him — because when Joe shows up, he’s got a jar of something funky that you’re definitely gonna want to try.

🔑 What You’ll Learn in This Episode
    • How growing up between Taipei and the Bay shaped Joe’s worldview
    • What he learned from his father’s women’s shoe business
    • The girlfriend who accidentally introduced him to his first cultivation mentor
    • How Cali → NY → Oregon influenced his craft
    • Why pheno-hunting fuels the heart of Dallas Growers Club
    • Why everyone thinks he’s from Dallas, TX — and the truth behind the name
    • What’s next for Dallas Growers Club

Y’all know what time it is… Roll em fat, torch your rigs, pack your bongs, bag up some work, water your plants, do what you gotta do because we’re about to take this journey with Joe from Dallas Grower’s Club!

    Nov 11 2025

🎙 Episode 156 Nelson Lindsley of Poetry of Plants

This week, JP sits down with Nelson Lindsley, founder of Poetry of Plants — a cultivator, innovator, and lifelong creator whose journey bridges two worlds: music and cannabis.

Before stepping into the cultivation spotlight, Nelson lived the rock-and-roll dream. He was signed to Geffen Records during the same era as Snoop Dogg and hosted legendary jam sessions in his Los Angeles warehouse — moments that captured the creative energy of the early 2000s music scene.

Years later, Nelson turned that same drive toward cannabis, founding Poetry of Plants and becoming one of the most respected voices in craft cultivation. With over two decades in the game, he’s built a brand rooted in heritage genetics, sustainability, and innovation — from land-race preservation to advanced lighting design and modern breeding programs.

In this episode, Nelson shares stories from both sides of his career — from life in the studio to life in the grow — and what it takes to stay creative, focused, and forward-thinking across two evolving industries.

🔑 What You Will Learn in This Episode
    • Nelson’s rock-and-roll past: being signed to Geffen Records and jamming in L.A. with Snoop Dogg
    • How he transitioned from the music world to the cannabis space

    • Why legacy knowledge and experimentation are both essential for the future of cannabis

    Nov 4 2025

🎙 Episode 155 – Bugbee of Gold Standard Cannabis Co.
This week, JP taps in with Bugbee — Sacramento native, rapper, grower, and owner of Gold Standard Cannabis Co. out of Grass Valley, CA. From the booth to the grow, Bugbee’s been locked into both worlds since high school. He told his parents early that he wanted to rap and grow — and they told him to come home and do it. He even hit the big stage, opening for YG at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center, proving that the same passion he brings to the mic fuels his success in cultivation.
