He also talks Tech football and basketball and what its like traveling with a big league club.     It’s always fascinating to listen to Bill Curry as he reminisces about his legendary career, the people and teams he played for and discusses the status of pro and college football today. Bill is a two-time Super Bowl champion who played 10 seasons in the NFL primarily with the Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Colts,. He participated in Super Bowls I, III and V and played for coaches Vince Lombardi and Don Shula. As a coach himself, Bill was the head football coach at his alma mater Georgia Tech, Alabama and Kentucky, winning the 1989 Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year award. He also was the head coach at Georgia State University when the school launched its football program in 2010.

    Ivan began his career with the Atlanta Constitution. He went from there to Sports illustrated. He joined ESPN.com in 2002 as college football writer, made many appearances on ESPN’s various platforms and served as producer for the program Saturdays in the South.

    The football Writers Association honored him for the best story of the year nine times. He was on the College Football Playoff selection committee in 2025 and in this podcast, not only does he tell great stories about Leahy, he also discusses the issues facing college football and why Congress or the Courts may need to intervene to help establish ground rules in this new era of college football.
