• Ep62 SoA - A Day In The Life of Prentice Bigelow
    Jun 20 2024

A little different than the last episode, at least the room wasn't stuffed full of a bunch of hot bodies. I got a chance to sit down with my good friend Prentice and get his take on all things worship. We find out that our stories have some similarities. But I think one of the biggest parts is....... you'll have to listen to part two to find out.

  • Ep61 SoA - Interview with Jonathan Blair Part 2
    Jun 13 2024

As Promised here's the rest of the interview with our friend Jonathan Blair. It was such a great conversation full of so many wisdom nuggets that we couldn't fit it into just one episode. So in this continuation we wrap up our conversation with Jonathan and then the three of us podbods stick around for some reaction time to our conversation. I was truly amazing.

As always, thanks for joining in on the conversation. Tune in as we begin this next adventure of the Sons of Asaph Podcast.

    Jun 7 2024

Been a long time coming. Here is the first installment of the audio from our interview with Jonathan Blair. It gets into the weeds with stories of Hurricanes and Fleas, but don't worry, we're still the same old hosts filled with donuts holes and little golden nuggets of mostly useful wisdom.

Thanks for joining in on the conversation. We hope you find some form of life in this muddy mess.

  • Ep59 SoA - A Changing of the Seasons
    Oct 18 2023

After many piles of hate mail and angry emails, we are finally going to start doing what we've always done......continue to post randomly timed episodes that have no real rhythm about them. This way we never have a consistent way of growing our listener.

For reals tho, We are shifting gears and planning for the future. This is not farewell for the Sons of Asaph, this is "see you soon". With new content, new plans, more voices, and most importantly, we're getting down to the nitty gritty with all of our friends in the worship leader world. We're taking the podcast to the streets to include YOU! Our listener. We already have a large list of guests and it will keep growing as we make more connections. We'll have a central TOPIC for the season we're in. But we will have loads of new perspectives and will always work to serve this up to all those who are involved in worship or even just love worship,.

Thank you so much for joining in the conversations. We hope that we can continue to fill up a space of time in your life that you may question how we were successful in chewing up some of your precious time. Don't worry tho, we will always strive to burn up your time ....... but wait....there's more..... we have the same banter and nuggets of wisdom to share with you as well.

So put your hands together for some good amounts of prayer.

    We Will See You Soon!

  • Ep58 SoA - Be Authentic! B-E! Authentic!
    Sep 13 2023

Today on this episode we delve deep into the heart of worship leadership, exploring the transformative journey from imitation to authenticity. Eric and Adam don't tread lightly as they have a thoughtful conversation about the significance of being original and genuine in the worship, free from the constraints of mimicking or copying others.

We don't claim to be seasoned worship leaders but we've been around a while and would like to share our personal stories and insights on the path to discovering our unique voices in worship. We uncover the challenges we've faced and the lessons learned while resisting the temptation to replicate someone else's worship experience.

Authenticity in worship leadership isn’t just about singing original songs or creating innovative melodies; it’s about embracing one’s true self and connecting with the Spirit on an intimate level. We share practical tips and strategies for worship leaders and musicians to nurture their creativity, develop their unique styles, and lead congregations in a way that is both authentic and spiritually enriching.

Tune in to hear some empowering anecdotes that we hope will resonate with worship leaders, musicians, and anyone seeking a deeper, more genuine connection with their spirituality. Whether you’re a worship leader, a member of a worship team, or simply someone passionate about worship, this episode will inspire you to embrace your originality, celebrate your uniqueness, and lead worship in a way that is truly authentic.

Thanks for joining in on the conversation. There are plenty of lame Dad jokes, and puns, and our random useless banter. But all in all we hope that you can find some sense of sensibility from the two senile doofuses.

    Thanks and Blessings

  • Ep57 SoA - AI Q&A - It Asks, We Answer
    Sep 6 2023

I Double Dog Dare You Not To Smile While Listening To This Episode
If you are used to the stuff from our regular episodes then this probably won't surprise you.

If you're new here, might I suggest starting out with a different episode to get to know us better before we completely ruin our chances.

We really put our trust in the wrong thing and ended up answering some wild questions.

You can thank AI for all the crazy questions.

We didn't have a specific topic but I think the lesson is not to count on AI to provide relevant or for that matter reverent material.

We started this episode completely off the rails and just continued to wander aimlessly for the better part of an hour.

It's definitely worth a listening especially if you're in the mood to laugh at our stupidity.

We hope you enjoy this episode. And thanks for joining in on the conversation.

We still hope that you might find some kind of value in this circus of monkey's.

  • Ep56 SoA - Real Worship or Just Polished Bronze?
    Jul 26 2023

As my kids would say "remember back in the old'en days." and then I would proceed to ground them from something for swearing like that.

For reals tho, it's like the old days when Sean and I would spend an hour picking on each other. We really do need Eric to keep the peace.

This one we take a good look at ourselves and what we bring to the alter in worship. Is it our most precious gold or just polished bronze.

There's plenty of shenanigans to go around. I just don't have my notes so I can only assure you.

We hope you enjoy this episode. Make sure to tell a friend or two so we can take up some of their precious time. And give us a review so that more people can find us.

Thanks for joining the conversation. We hope in this barrel of monkeys you find a bunch of wisdom morsels. Or at least one or two take-outs? Take-ins? Takis? Take-aways, that's it!

  • Ep55 SoA - How Much Should You Charge For Serving?
    Jul 5 2023

I'm sure that even just reading that title makes your skin crawl. We are confident that we're going to get a mixed bag of reactions. But don't worry, we pick on ourselves and our own experiences in charging for serving (cringe).

As leaders, whether you are just serving in your home church or helping out somewhere else, it's important to keep the right kind of heart about serving. That way the rest is a blessing.

I think an important note to make here is the effort made in proving our own innocence in charging a church when we serve and also how humble we all are. This topic tends to take some serious jabs at our pride, as it should.

Thanks for joining in on the conversation. We hope that you enjoy our point-of-view and we are keeping our fingers crossed that you will find some kind of knowledge within the three uh-ego's, better three stooges; and we won't even charge you for it.
