Those of us who have lost children and loved ones are grieving in silence. The average time off for bereavment is only three days. Life is expected to go on as if nothing happened. There is an expectation to move on and not bring up our dead child's name.

This podcast offers comfort for people who have lost children. We will break the silence and share our difficulties with living without our beloved children. But we don't just share difficulties, our stories are also bound up in hope!Copyright Jimmy and Clara Hinton

Do you ever wonder why you family seems to fall apart after the loss of a child? It turns out that you are not alone. When communication breaks down, so can the family. Grief is messy. We all grieve differently, and that can lead to a lot of confusion and hurt feelings within a family. Husbands and wives grieve differntly, and this can lend itself to miscommunication and hurt feelings.

In this episode, we talk about ways families can communicate better so they can work through their grief together.

  • Episode 72 | The hardest part of grief
    Mar 24 2026
The hardest part about grief is reaching the moment of KNOWING that it is real. For some of us, getting to the point where we know that our child is no longer coming home can take a long time. There is a very clear connection that has to happen between what our heart knows and what our brain denies.

But once we walk through the hardes part of grief, something begins to slowly change. The days begin to get a little bit brighter, color starts to come back into our grey lives, and we begin to live again. Grief is hard. There is no way around that. But we can walk this journey together. Join us as we walk through this journey with you.

  • Episode 71 | I can't do this, but I have to
    Mar 17 2026
When grief feels overwhelming, we feel like we just can't go on doing the things that still need done. The reality is that we need to go on. Ideally, someone will come alongside you and say, "You don't need to do this right now because I've got your back."

However, many of us don't have a prince charming to come into our lives and do our laundry, cook our meals, and do homework with our kids or grandkids. In this episode, we share ways that we can move forward with our grief, even when it is crippling.

If you want to learn more about moving forward when life feels very hard, see chapter 4 of my book, Child Loss: The Heartbreak and the Hope: https://amzn.to/49E3tP6

I watch Cara on her FB live every day and thought I would give the podcast a try as well. one of the best podcasts I have heard. the support is amazing, her personal journey makes it easy to relate and feel understood in my own grief. I love the mother/son approach, seeing the bond you have is heartwarming. would recommend this podcast to anyone navigating grief, but especially grief for the loss of a child.
