SISTER with Ocean Sisters

They are Julia Hummel and Jaz Levis, and they are the Co-Directors of a women international collective called the Ocean Sisters. They were driven by their passion for the ocean, but also because of their acknowledgement of how, even in sports like surf and body board, 'the guys were seen as the cool ones while the girls were just ... the girls in the bikinis'.

Julia wanted to change that: she founded the Ocean Sisters and she brought Jaz in. They both come from different backgrounds, different professional paths; what united them was their complementarity and their purpose to unite women and empower them.

We had a great talk with Jaz after their workshop in Senegal; unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Julia because of a bacteriae she brought along with her on their way back. But we know we will meet her soon: this is surely an organization we will keep in touch with (the team at Womanity is crazy to try some of their workshops!).
