I hope you're ready for the start of an amazing story, one that gets mentioned a lot, but I rarely told in full. This will be the first of four parts on Richard, 3rd Duke of York. Yes, FOUR! I knew this subject would be huge, but I didn't even realise how much I'd want to share about him and the events surrounding his almost-reign.
Richard was the only surviving son of Richard Conisbourgh, Earl of Cambridge (the younger son of Edmund of Langley) and Anne, Mortimer (the great-granddaughter of Lionel of Antwerp). His life is a fascinating lens into the events that will cause the Wars of the Roses.
