Return of the Sith? (Political Science Class)

A thought experiment about how the Sith could best take control of Earth leads to interesting contemplation of the governmental structures currently dominating human affairs on Earth. What are the pros and cons to systems with centralized top-down controls (China) and more chaotic individual choice based systems (USA)? What role do we play in shaping these systems of control? How do we avoid a future dystopia where a single emperor-like figure, or small group of people, holds a microphone in one hand and has the other hand on the launch button? These questions and more are central to today's class.
