    Powerpoint notes

The story of God's working with men in these last days has been taken over by incorrect ideas and teaching. There is one main message. There is one great event that needs to take place in all our lives, in every follower of Christ. We need to be willing to give up all our sins to know Him. What follows changes everything!!!

    POWERPOINT NOTES

What gives us purpose and meaning when we wake up in the morning, or when we lay our head down on our pillow at night? Do we feel like we are just going through the motions, hanging out, waiting for something to happen? Perhaps just waiting to die? Or do we have hope? Do we center our minds or meditate on the beautiful promise and blessing the Lord has waiting for us? Not in some far off distant future but today. Here. Now! He wants to dwell in us. This has possibly become a watered down, christian phrase that isn't really considered or paid attention to on a deeper level. But consider.....the creator of the universe living within you and setting you apart for His holy purposes. How can one be bored with life, or give in to the monotony of the day to day activities surrounded by spiritual Babylon if the King of the Universe is residing with in us. Not only are we told of a new heaven and new earth as part of a future existence but he are told He wants to give us a new heart. One that is filled with His holy spirit. This is sanctification. This is the purpose of the gospel and this is something that has been covered up and buried under the gentile teaching of Joseph Smith and the early church. The message restored in plainness in the Book of Mormon was substituted with another message and it has left many wondering, what went wrong. It has left leaders asking "what is the purpose of our existence". Perhaps the time is here to repent and look at the Book of Mormon message preserved through the years to come forth at this time. By following its teachings that came from God Himself, we have a glorious promise that He will transform our heart and restore us to Him. As a nation, as a people, and on a very personal level, regardless of what other evils are going on in the world today. Our hope and purpose is in looking forward to not only a new heaven and new earth but to a New Heart where God dwells within us.

    VIDEO PODCAST

In a recent letter sent to the restoration branches by a group of Elders who belong to a loosely organized body to bring ministry, there was some honest observations made. One being, that we are headed into obscurity. We discuss the probable reasons why this has happened and the prophecies that explain what is ahead for those who repent or do not repent. Whether a person is from from the house of Israel or a gentile, the message is the same and lineage doesn’t matter when it comes to our relationship with God. The message is to repent. Not surface level of repentance, but aligning one’s heart and submitting one’s will to his very creator and giver of life. A deep, all encompassing repentance, is what God calls for.
Below was communication sent to the church at large:
    Dear Saints,
There comes a time in every organization in which certain questions must be asked. The CRE has been a fixture in the Restoration Movement for 31 years now. There has been much good done for the sake of the Kingdom through the efforts of those who have participated throughout the years. While we recognize that the CRE is not “The Church,” it has been fulfilling the missionary role of the Church quite well.
It Is not difficult to look back in recent years and see the declining participation in the Elders Conference and other activities sponsored by the CRE. It has become increasingly difficult to fill the quorums so that they can operate effectively. We could spend hours, or even days postulating on the reason behind this decline. Perhaps life has become busier than in times past? Perhaps it seems to some that the CRE has drifted away from the purpose for which it was formed? Whatever the reason may be, the fact remains that, much like the Restoration Branches themselves, if we continue on our current path, we will continue to dwindle into obscurity.
While the coordinating council has reaffirmed that the conference should remain true to its stated purpose, there may be those who disagree. There are those who would stand on the side of discontinuing the CRE. We could spend unbounded hours expressing our opinions on this topic. There is one thing to remember, however, that is basic to our beliefs. We believe in a God who speaks today. Our opinions, though fruitful for banter, debate, and discussion, are not comparable to God’s will revealed.
We would like to invite all who read this to spend time in fasting and prayer in preparation for the 2026 conference. Pray for the ministry of those who have been tasked with bringing classes, services, or sermons. Pray for the Spirit of God to rest upon all who attend. Pray for peace and harmony in our discussions. Pray that God’s voice will be heard in answer to our petitions. Let us come together in an attitude of worship and reverence and ask God if He would that the CRE continue, and what His purpose would be. This will be a topic of discussion in our quorum meetings at conference.
May God bless each of you in your daily preparations and ministries. May He be glorified in all things.
    Sincerely,
Jay Havener - Coordinating Council Chairman, Jeremy Stephenson-Conference Chaiman. Below is the current mission statement of the CRE:
    The CRE exists to:
Organize the coming together of Melchisedec Priesthood, as well as the Aaronic Priesthood and members for:
Spiritual preparation and to unify our efforts on behalf of the work to which we are called.
Much needed fellowship and fraternity to prepare us to defend and preserve the faith.
