Renting an Apartment in New York City

By: Rodolfo Delgado
  • Summary

  • When I moved to New York years ago, I had no clue about the complexity that renting an apartment in New York City comes with. Broker Fees? Convertible? Guarantor? There's a High Season? Obsessed with this, I ended up becoming a Real Estate Agent, and later the CEO of a Real Estate/Tech company. Because of this, I understand both worlds perfectly. I've been where you are now, and I know how Real Estate Agents think. So I created this podcast for those of those who are as clueless as I was when I initially came to The Big Apple - hoping to make my mark in guiding people in finding their place more easily. In it, you can expect to find all documentation needed, answer to questions about guarantors, broker fees, types of buildings to rent in, etc. This Podcast was created by Rodolfo Delgado, CEO and Cofounder of Replay Listings. • Episode 2 - Why is it so Difficult to Rent in New York City?
    Oct 1 2019

Did you Know that once you have taken possession of the apartment and have started living in it, there are many laws that protect you from the landlords who own the buildings? As a matter of fact, landlords can take years evicting a tenant - even if the tenant hasn’t paid the rent. That's why Landlords are more afraid of tenants than the other way around!

Anyway, this episode is designed for you to learn more about the rental process before arriving to the Big Apple. Check it out!
