Hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week we are talking about John chapter 17, and Alex thinks this passage is one of the more important, pivotal moments in the book of John, where he starts to shift towards the rubber meeting the road, the church being the church, and the commission that God gives the church. And today's episode, we're gonna talk about the messiness of how that's actually played out throughout human history. The church seems to be off the rails so much of the time. We're not unified oftentimes, and why does God do these things in and through the church? We discussed some of that messiness, and yet, maybe hold on to this hope that the church is still a beautiful thing in the world. Let's dive right in.

Well, hello. Hello and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. This week on our show, we are actually exploring Alex's sermon from last week, where he talked about what parts of our lives, the branches of our lives, are supposed to stay. Does God invite us to maybe grow fruit that's beyond our capacity? Like maybe he made us not just to bear fruit, but to bear fruit so that we need him to sustain it all. And then we're also gonna dive into a few questions we received about how to know if I'm saved, and how to know if I've done enough to be in God's favor that we came outta the Alpha class? And we're gonna address that for you as well. So without any further ado, let's dive right in.Send in your questions at redcouchtheology.com.Have I Done Enough? | Red Couch TheologyPastors Alex Walton & Aaron BjorklundSouth Fellowship ChurchBased in Littleton, CO

  • Learning to Hear God in the Hard Seasons
    Mar 16 2026

Well, hello. Hello and welcome everyone to the Red Couch Theology Podcast. Hey, this week we have two different guests. We have Angela Dunn, who taught the Alpha class last night, and we have Sean Switzer, who brought the message on Sunday. And we're talking about two main topics that actually tie together in an interesting way.

First, Sean talked about those times when God prunes us, and we miss the old branches. And then we're also gonna talk about how we know when we're hearing from God's voice, like what does his voice sound like, and how do we know it's him talking to us? And interestingly, there's a connection between those two things, and they both tell incredible stories about how God's worked in their lives in both areas.

    So let's dive right in.
