  • Episode 34: The Inspiration behind January set mystery THE GUERNSEY FERRY MURDERS
    Jan 26 2026
A body on a ferry and a body under a rotting houseboat, what connects them? DI Andy Horton has to find out in THE GUERNSEY FERRY MURDERS, number 13 in the Solent Murder Mytery series of currently 19. What inspired me to write this DI Andy Horton crime novel. Detective Inspector Andy Horton is in Guernsey when he receives an urgent call from his friend, Inspector John Guilbert: ‘A woman’s been found dead on the ferry which sailed from Portsmouth this morning.’ The dead woman is discovered in her cabin lying face down in the confined space between the beds. The door locked from the inside. Horton and Guilbert suspect foul play. Back on his boat at Southsea Marina, Horton receives another call, this time from Sergeant Warren. A vagrant’s body is discovered under one of the old houseboats near Langstone Harbour. Shot in the chest.Troubled by questions surrounding both deaths, Horton dives headfirst into his investigations, where dark secrets lead to destruction. "Terrific read by my favourite author." Avril Adams "Brilliant story, exciting and full of twists, couldn’t put the book down. "CJ By Pauline Rowson Pauline Rowson

  • Episode 33: The Inspiration behind January set THE ISLE OF WIGHT MURDERS
    Jan 19 2026
A cold, grey January morning. A woman with a gun in her hand. A corpse on an abandoned golf course. Detective Inspector Andy Horton is taking a break on the Isle of Wight. But even when he’s on holiday trouble follows him . . . How I came up with the idea for THE ISLE OF WIGHT MURDERS, no. 5 in the DI Andy Horton Solent Murder Mystery Series of 19. "An exciting and dramatic story. Even on holiday, Horton, has a knack for finding trouble. A thriller, one murder seems to attract more of them. Characters were complicated and intriguing, with a labyrinth like trail of clues." Snowdrop "Beautifully written, gives you a great layout of the island and continuing underlying storyline too. Brilliant and easy to read, I did it in one sitting and can't wait for the next one in the series" Judith "Excellent, well written and a cut above the rest. I have enjoyed all of her books." • Episode 32: The ideas and research behind this DI Andy Horton crime novel THE ROYAL HOTEL MURDERS
    Jan 8 2026
DI Andy Horton has a lot on his plate in THE ROYAL HOTEL MURDERS. A celebrity receives threatening phone calls. A nursing home resident assaulted. A man found in a gravel pit with several of his fingers severed. DI Andy Horton investigates in THE ROYAL HOTEL MURDERS no. 4 in the DI Andy Horton Solent Murder Mystery Series of 19. "DI Andy Horton, has plenty on his plate in an intriguing plot. There's plenty to keep the reader guessing." Guy" Pauline Rowson is really very, very good at putting together a very twisty plot. This one has more wayward turns than a drunken spiral! But you know that Andy Horton will get there in the end. Excellent book!" Kimmsie "Great characters, plot, flow, and lots of evil villains. I don't know how she does it, but so happy that she does." Sheana Pauline Rowson
