Orphan Black: The Next Chapter

By: Realm
  • Summary

  • After a groundbreaking event changes the world, all clones— familiar and unknown— must face the consequences. Starring Emmy award-winning actress Tatiana Maslany, Realm presents the official continuation of the hit TV series Orphan Black.  “The sequel fans deserve.” —Comicbook.com “Wildly fun, sexy sci-fi.” —Chicago Sun-Times Since their victory against Project Leda eight years ago, the original sestras—Sarah, Alison, Cosima, and those they love—have been free to live quiet, anonymous lives. But that anonymity comes at a cost: Cosima is unable to pursue the cutting-edge science that saved her life; Sarah’s daughter Kira is suffocated by her mother’s insistence on secrecy; and Charlotte, the youngest Leda clone, questions why her family gets to survive while other, unaware clones get sick and die.  Everything changes when Vivi Valdez, a CIA Agent, discovers she, too, is a clone—and goes rogue. Vivi’s pursuit of the truth brings chaos to the original Clone Club when one of them is accused of murder. To prove their innocence, they must step out of the shadows and publicly claim the secret they’ve sacrificed everything to protect. Family ties will be tested, long-lasting alliances betrayed, and the future of all clones hangs in the balance. Season 2 picks up where Season 1 leaves off, with (spoiler alert!) the Clones exposed to the general public. Now that the news is out, hundreds of previously unaware clones strive for justice and clash with anti-clone protestors. In the middle of it all, the Sestras and their families wrestle with the consequences of their actions, and what it means for their future.   Emmy Award-winning Orphan Black actress Tatiana Maslany returns for Season 2, but is now joined by original TV show cast members Jordan Gavaris (Felix), Evelyne Brochu (Delphine), and Kristian Bruun (Donnie).  Orphan Black: The Next Chapter is a Realm production written by Malka Older, Madeline Ashby, Mishell Baker, Heli Kennedy, E.C. Myers, and Lindsay Smith. Listen Away. For more shows like this, visit Realm.fm

Tatiana's voices captivate you into the story

The story keeps building in intensity, weaving and reveling its strands. Excellent story, but what really makes it very hard to stop listening is Tatiana's flawless narration. I've extended bike rides, needing to hear more, miles having gone past unnoticed as I've pedaled away totally engrossed.
Only minor quibbles are the too loud promos and the sound design. Sounds should be informative and unobtrusive, but hearing a character's phone ringtone or vibration yank you right out of the story trying to tell if it is your own (same thing applies to sirens)! The narration explicitly states "x's cell phone rang" making the jarring sound unnecessary. Every bit of immersion this story needs is amply supplied by Tatiana!
This will be a repeat listen while eagerly awaiting season 2.

Such an exciting surprise!

Discovering this audio continuation of Orphan Black has been a great surprise!! I loved this show so much. Tatiana Maslany is incredible. I can see the new clone club members in my imagination as clearly as I saw all the original Sestras watching the show. Wonderful!!! Thank you.

A Wonderful Sequel to an Incredible Series

My wife just recently got me into the Orphan Black series. We watched it all in a few weeks. Tatiana Maslany is incredibly talented. I was cautious with the podcast sequel. Wasn’t sure what to expect. SOOO GOOD. They did a great job of filling in the timeline gap and expanding the Sestras lives while including more clones into the mix with new struggles secret plots.

PHENOMENAL! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Story picks up from the tv show!!! Tatiana Maslany is utterly priceless in these characters!!! No story could continue without her, but the writers are spot on excellence in continuing the story!!!

Highly recommend

I really like this podcast, the way they keep out attention chapter by chapter, also I enjoyed the performance and all the accents they introduced in the story, it made more easy to understand and follow with the tone of the voices. It’s a good practice to improve you’re listening skills, if you’re not a native English speaker like me :) Help me to improve my pronunciation and English skills.
