Welcome to Not Your Magical Negro. A podcast where we’ll be taking a deep dive into black fantasy & horror, dissecting shows and movies through a black & queer lens.

This season we continue to explore Lovecraft Country. A show where the horrors and reality of racism are more frightening than any creature or monster from our imaginations.

Episode 9 is called “Rewind 1921”, and takes us all deeper into the pasts of characters and the ties that bind throughout generations. This episode takes us to the night of the Tulsa massacre, bringing to a boil a lot of the racial tensions we see building throughout the season. Intersectionality, genocide, and generational trauma all come to head. Let’s get political yall.
