Hosted by two friends who share a passion for public lands and a fascination with what can go wrong there, each week hosts Danielle and Cassie explore the darker side of our National Parks. But it isn’t always chills and thrills. By sharing inspiring tales and their desire for protecting our planet’s wild places, they hope listeners will be inspired to take a walk into the wild and create meaningful adventures of their own. 939760 Biografías y Memorias Ciencias Sociales Crímenes Reales Escritos y Comentarios sobre Viajes Mundial

  • 338: Your Leg or Your Life: Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park
    Dec 1 2025
In November of 2024, 65 year-old Valdas Bieliauskas was on a rafting trip with a group of friends in the wilds of Tasmania when he did something we all have - he stumbled. But that trip landed him in an impossible situation. With his leg pinned between boulders in fast moving cold water, options were running out. A decision had to be made - a limb or his life.

  • 337: The Fight for Native Lands: The Leonard Peltier Story. Badlands National Park
    Nov 24 2025
In honor of National Native American Heritage Month, we venture into Badlands National Park, where a 1975 shootout on the Pine Ridge Reservation left two FBI agents and an activist dead. Leonard Peltier, convicted on questionable evidence and finally released after 49 years, insists his only crime was “being an Indian.” This is a story of defiance, injustice, and the complex fight for Native lands and sovereignty.

All of their episodes are a delight. Well researched and presented in a quirky manner sure to keep your attention no matter how old you are. They've been criticized for swearing, but I enjoy their candid nature. It might take 3-4 episodes before you find yourself wondering what else there recorded. Sadly I'm all caught up and have to wait for new releases.
I highly recommend you start with their TRAIL TALES, listener submissions. 💜💙💚❤💛

I Love These Ladies

This is the second podcast I have found that I can get into. I am an avid crafter and NPAD has become my go to while crafting. I just discovered this podcast and am only on episode 8 but I am hooked. Even my not interested in anything my mom is doing 13 year old sits and listens. I really like how long the episodes are and how the stories are told. I like that personal opinions and stories are shared as well. I also appreciate the realness from the hosts. Your opinions and the swearing make me feel like we are friends just sitting down for some girl time. It’s also funny hearing your pronunciation of some of the towns in the PNW. Born and raised here and I’ll be honest I struggle sometimes with names lol.

Love this!
