We discuss why the same idea can show up in the mythology of cultures on opposite sides of the world, what real events can inspire superstition and folklore, how stories can completely change over time, and where possible try to figure out what could have inspired people to dream up dragons, demons, gods and monsters.     Cassie resurfaces in Scotland, to investigate another loch monster, the Morag of Loch Morar. Although Nessie may have hogged the limelight, we find tales of Morag all the way back to the 19th century, from a harbinger of death for the MacDonnell clan, to a reptilian beast attacking local sailors.
