Everyone has things they are passionate about; things we want our friends to try and experience. So we've convinced each other to try different things. We talk about these experiences to see if we can just get one more person to join us on our hill to die on.2019 Arte Ciencia Ficción Historia y Crítica Literaria

Sometimes it seems necessary to hide in another era just to get time off. This week, cross country season came and went and Nate thinks back on how it was. Then, both Ryan and Nate address the dangers of nostalgia and if those movies we remember were actually any good. After that, the two discuss art before they shift the discussion to parodies, cats, and the sentience of a time line as they discuss the Connie Willis book, To Say Nothing of the Dog.

What if it was the Earth… but different? This week, Nate and Ryan discuss new TVs, water parks, and alternate earth stories. That discussion culminates in The Calculating Stars, a book by Mary Robinette Kowal in which they discuss the possibility of social change, being just the character the story needs, and the science in science fiction.

This week Nate and Ryan decided to play another game. So Ryan, perhaps foolishly, surveyed a number of listeners, coworkers, students, and whoever else he could corner, and he asked them the important fundamental questions of human existence—questions like "what song gets stuck in your head" or "which is the best muppet?" Then he invited Keith, Nash, Shi, Sylvain, and Terence to join Nate in trying to figure out how people responded, in the 100% definitely, legally-distinct game, "Colleague Clash".
