Maggie’s Done It Again!

Maggie concludes that they are not able to continue working on the case because they were unable to find any new evidence that would allow the case to be re-opened. Although she continuously states, no one is saying he (or they) are guilty, they also couldn't be sure he wasn't involved. She said it is clear that he didn't get a fair trial, but it's also implausible that the Alliance police department (although clearly corrupt) could instrument all of the layers involved in this case. I guess that means Maggie is really nieve or she doesn't follow many cases. Henry Lee Lucas learned how far corruption can spread into the welcoming arms of other counties AND states. Just saying! If corruption is so limited, why do we need this podcast? Or Proclaim Justice? Or Project Innocence? Wake up!
The last episodes finish up the production by running through all of the information that now supports David's & Joe's involvement. There seems to be a lot of build-up and presumption before any real investigation was apparently completed, which is followed by a tremendous let-down (much like seeing inside Al Capone's vault).
I couldn't say one way or the other if one or both men are guilty. What I can say is - if I had a family member that I believed was wrongfully convicted, I would not want this group investigating because, in 20 episodes, they probably destroyed any progress toward public support that David's wife had built over several years of intense dedicated work! Why? Desperation is my honest guess. After weeks and weeks of fluff and no real new information, she had to tell us something. Ultimately she hung her hat around David's neck.
This podcast is disappointing and 100% NOT RECOMMENDED. I believe it cheapens the real efforts and legitimate investigations for victims that are desperately hoping for someone to help them stand up to a system that has ruined their integrity and stolen their lives. Even though Maggie insists that David did not get a fair trial and the evidence was not sufficient beyond a reasonable doubt to convict him - she sold him out and she destroyed any hope that he might have in getting help from someone else. Maybe she should look into work with law enforcement. She clearly has a good understanding of the need to provide an end result and she has no problem if there is an undue cost to someone else and all of their loved ones.
For the record, I do not know any of the individuals involved in this case and I live several states away. BUT, I do not support kicking people when they are down and stripping away hope when it is all they have left, just for the sake of entertainment.
Equal to Geraldo Rivera opening Capone's vault
