As we continue down the rabbit hole of our SCI FI LOVE IT Retrospective Series. We find ourselves on an island. The island of Dr. Monreau.

Following a plane crash in the South Pacific, UN negotiator Edward Douglas is rescued at sea by Montgomery, a radical neurosurgeon. He is taken to a remote, private island owned by the reclusive Nobel Prize winner Dr. Moreau.

The story follows Lucy (Johnny Sequoyah), a college student who returns to her family’s remote, cliffside mansion in Hawaii after the death of her mother. She is joined by her younger sister Erin and their deaf father Adam (Troy Kotsur), a successful novelist. The family lives with Ben, a highly intelligent pet chimpanzee that was the subject of their late mother’s linguistics research. Ben can communicate using American Sign Language and a custom tablet soundboard.

The plot follows Spike (Alfie Williams), who has been "rescued" by a bizarre, sadistic cult known as The Fingers. Led by the psychopathic Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), this gang dresses in matching tracksuits and peroxide-blonde wigs, modeling themselves after 1990s British pop culture and the late Jimmy Savile. Spike is forced into a brutal initiation—a death match against another member—and is renamed "Jimmy" as part of their collective identity.

To prove his worth and regain his honor, Dek sets out to hunt the Kalisk, a legendary apex predator with near-instant regenerative abilities. Along the way, he forms an unlikely alliance with Thia (Elle Fanning), a damaged Weyland-Yutani android whose team was slaughtered by the Kalisk.

This is the second time in Movie Guys Podcast history where a movie get a bag of butter. Which means the movie is so terrible but we laughed and had fun.
