On the lastest episode of Mormon Book Reviews, the book "Method Infinite: Freemasonry and The Mormon Restoration" by Cheryl Bruno, Joe Steve Swick, and Nicholas Literski is previewed! I was sent a preview copy of the book by it's publisher Greg Kofford Books. I have been able to read parts of it and the book is groundbreaking and awesome! After discussing the contents of it with my producer Anthony Virella (who did an awesome job in the post production of this video) we decided to produce a special spoiler free sneak preview of the publication. This will be the start of my Mormonism & Masonry Summer series. In addition to having on Mormon scholar and Freemason Jason Smith (tomorrow night's interview), I will also have on some of the authors of Method Infinte on in the lead up to the Aug. 9th release. On the latest episode of Mormon Book Reviews, Steven Pynakker discusses the book "The History of Warsaw Illinois: Including the Mormon Period" by Brian Stutzman. This is the first comprehensive history of Warsaw that has ever been written. Brian does a fantastic job detailing it's history and it helps provide the context for Warsaw's relationship with Nauvoo and the Church. In the Mormon period the book covers Thomas Sharp, the participants who killed Joseph Smith, the sham trial of the defendants, the bravery of Eliza Graham to testify at the trial and much more. Many of you will find the history of before and after the Mormon period interesting as well.

On the latest episode of Mormon Book Reviews, the book "An Insider's View of Mormon Origins" by Grant Palmer is discussed by Evangelical Steven Pynakker. Grant was a well regarded CES instructor who would get disfellowshipped for publishing the book. It was a groundbreaking work when it first came out and for many it was the first time they were exposed to the stone in the hat translation narrative. An Insider's View of Mormon Origins

On the latest episode of Mormon Book Reviews the work of Rebecca Janzen author of "Liminal Sovereignty: Mennonites and Mormons in Mexican Culture" is discussed. The book details the struggles Mennonites and Mormons have had with the Mexican government, post- Revolutionary land reform, the threat of drug cartels, how these communities are viewed and portrayed in the Mexican media, and some unusual Mennonite funeral practices.

On the latest episode of Mormon Book Reviews, Steven Pynakker discusses a book written by the Rev. Katie Langston titled "Sealed: An Unexpected Journey into the Heart of Grace". Katie was raised LDS and suffered from a type of relgious OCD called scrupulosity. This is her story of her journey out of an entirely works based worldview and into one that embraces grace. On the latest episode of Mormon Book Reviews, Steven Pynakker reviews two very different graphic novels about Joseph Smith. The first one is the critically acclaimed "The Glass Looker: Collected Tales of Joseph Smith" illustrated and written by Mark Elwood. It is a fantasticlly illustrated and written account about the folklore and mythology of Joseph's treasure digging days. Many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have probably encountered the infamous Christian Fundamentalist Chick Tracts, in particular the one called "The Visitors". That tract has been read by millions of Christians and ,for many, it is their only source of information about the Church and the Restoration.
