  • Introducing: The Road of Shadows
    May 14 2024
Today we'd like to introduce you to: The Road Of Shadows. The Road of Shadows is a mystery and suspense audio drama about a man who finds himself on the run in a small town in the mountains, pursued by mysterious creatures that only he can see. It's set in 1984, so if you like the retro vibe of S1 of Mockery Manor, this has some of the same flavour. We're in a small mountain town community, so it's got that wonderful, Twin Peaks / X Files style eeriness that's just always so much fun. It's a beautifully made show, great music and sound design, and it comes to you from Beyond The Dark Productions, who also make The Strata, a wonderful dystopian sci-fi which you may also enjoy. There are two full seasons out now, and you can find it wherever you get your podcasts, or, as usual, by tapping the link in the show notes. And now here's episode 1 of The Road of Shadows, called Misty Pines. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Introducing: Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club
    Apr 23 2024
Hey everyone, Laurence here, and we've got another recommendation for you! We'd like to introduce you to Josie's Lonely Hearts Club - a semi-improvised audio drama set in the studio of New Mexico’s 3rd-best romantic advice call-in show. On-air, listeners eavesdrop as Josie squares off against top improvisers and her engineer Frank. Each episode’s off-air vignettes chart her journey from melancholy Joanne Holtzinger to nationally syndicated sensation Josie Heller. What results is an often hilarious and surprisingly human show exploring the risks we idiots take every time we fall in or out of love. It's a really lovely vibe, this show. The performers slip between the scripted and improvised sections so seamlessly that it all just feels so believable, like it was meant to be. This is a cosy late-night drive time listen if there ever was one. Season 1 of Josie's Lonely Hearts Club is out in its entirety and Season 2 is releasing weekly right now. You can find it wherever you get your podcasts or by tapping the link in the show notes of this episode. And now here's episode 1 of Josie's Lonely Hearts Club, called: Let's Jam It Up, Sluts! Another recommend from us! Today, we're bringing you World Gone Wrong, a fictional chat show about friendship at the end of the world. Malik and Jamie were roommates when the world ended. Each week, Malik & Jamie will tackle topics like: should I change my office hours to accommodate vampire students? What if the body snatcher that took over my ex is nice? When did the kudzu start humming like that? Malik & Jamie will try to help! Subscribe to World Gone Wrong anywhere you get your podcasts. Malik: Michael Turrentine Jamie: Hilary Williams Written by Jessica Best, directed and edited by Jeffrey Nils Gardner. Brilliant

Literally can not find another podcast like it which is annoying as I compare everything to mockery manor and I’m trying to find something to fill the gap while I’m waiting for a new episode each week the only other thing that has filled the gap is tower 4 and now I’ve listened to all them and currently waiting for season 2
But honestly there is no better than mockery manor
