    Released March 20, 2026, GOLIATH, the newest behemoth to emerge from classic thrash masters EXODUS, feels a lot like 1989 but with some other added extras that are a bit different, experimental, and a little off the reservation relative to their earlier work. It also marks the return of Rob Dukes on vocals for the first time since 2010’s Exhibit B: The Human Condition. Loaded with scathing social commentary against the modern philistine monsters of our time, GOLIATH is sure to get the blood & adrenaline pumping and the fists & heads banging with revolutionary glee and righteous vengeance. Amidst all the thrashing, there are also a multitude of brutally heavy moments, shredding twin guitar harmonies, melodic riffs with power metal overtones, and even a string arrangement that, while a bit different than anything they’ve recorded previously, is still 100%, unapologetically EXODUS.     “Let’s keep the dumb fuhqery to a minimum today…” EMBERING EFFIGY, the “Southern Fried Thrash Metal” threesome hailing from the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia are making some noise in venues all across the Southeast with their blistering live shows and their recently released new album, OUT OF THE WOODS, featuring 8 tracks of old school thrash infused with a generous blend of blast beats, high energy punk, filthy breakdowns, and even some old school “mosh parts” for good measure. There’s enough fast stuff, heavy stuff, and sick stuff on this album to give anyone who hears it a complete stank face makeover. “We’ve never had this many inputs before…” We recently had a chance to hang out with EMBERING EFFIGY and do a full playthrough of OUT OF THE WOODS (deep within the insulated walls of Bunkerpoon Studios), including some track by track insights from the band as well as some Q&A about their history, their live shows, and of course the new album and everything that went into making it (along with some ultra hilarious vulgarity that’s too obscene to be mentioned here). “I want a juicy girl…” If you haven’t seen EMBERING EFFIGY live as of yet (or if you ‘blacked out’ only three songs into their set like ‘some people’…), they are definitely one of those bands you must experience extremely LOUD and LIVE, so if you need something to tide you over until you can catch one of their shows, pick up OUT OF THE WOODS and crank it up to 11! “Maybe we should be listening to THAT in the car…instead of KISS.” It’s time to “Make Thrash Dangerous Again” because we’re packed in so “tight and intimate” that whoever is in the middle is “going skiing”.
