This podcast is about to think together, philosophize and raise our awareness on different topics. My aim is to make you think reflective on the issues by giving examples of my experience, my understanding and my way of thinking. Melancholy was the name of my poetry program on London Turkish radio, which I prepared and presented between 2007 and 2008. I will share my poems with you in some episodes in order to continue it. • Seven Deadly Sins/Envy
    Aug 5 2023

In this episode we are talking about one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Envy

When we do something that we may call it a sin or a mistake we feel uncomfortable, that is the side of us that, we do not want other people to see, or perhaps we don’t like that side of ourselves.

Sin makes us confront something in ourselves of which we are aware but don’t like to be reminded of.

Envy and jealousy are both negative emotions that we feel, difference is in jealousy two or more people confront each other and it’s avowedly reciprocal. When there’s a doubt and big trust issue in jealousy, envious person would know exactly what provokes the feeling.

Eradicating envy from human nature is not possible but with education it can be manageable, collective cultures show evidence that people can be more successful when there’s more equality exist in unenvious environments.

It’s inevitable to stop a person discovering, there will be always something to envy.

  • A Matter of Principle
    Apr 29 2023

Although principles are similar to our values, they are not tied to the values you adhere to, principles guide us like a compass as our values change, and they ensure that our behavior is consistent.

Another very important difference is that principles are independent of religions and personal belief systems. While values we hold are personal and subjective. Principles are rational and based on universal truths.

Principles are, our reference points that we turn to when we are in a dilemma and searching for an answer.

By having well thought out principles, you can always be comfortable knowing that you’ve made the right decision.
