  • Resumen

  • This is a story about your butt. It’s a story about how you got your butt, why you have your butt, and how your butt might be one of the most important and essential things for you being you, for being human.

In this episode from 2019, Reporter Heather Radke and Producer Matt Kielty talk to two researchers who followed the butt from our ancient beginnings through millions of years of evolution, all the way to today, out to a valley in Arizona, where our butts are put to the ultimate test.

    Special thanks to Michelle Legro.

Anther good show, same problems.

Radiolab is a great podcast, but this show is a perfect example of how they miss our ignore a lot of information.

When it gets to the end and they talk about the persistent hunting vs scavenging. But the entire concept of scavenging is being fast. Getting in and out quickly. Which cannot be true in any means given everything they went over in the episode.

It was pointed out by the same guy who claims we were scavengers earlier in the episode that it was unlikely we were runners because we specifically aren't fast. And everything gone over and even proven in the episode is that we were and are endurance runners. Persistence hunting is the only explanation at that.

Yet at the end of the episode the hosts still go, "Yeah the scavenging theory makes more sense to me."

This is an ongoing Radiolab issue. Still enjoy the show, though.
