The Cincinnati Reds were embarrassed by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night, falling in lopsided fashion. Andrew Abbott turned in one of his worst outings of the year, surrendering 7 earned runs across just 4 innings. Despite putting runners on base throughout the night, the Reds offense failed to deliver in key spots and never mounted a serious threat. Cincinnati will look to regroup Sunday afternoon as they try to avoid being swept at Chase Field.

The Cincinnati Reds suffered a tough 6-5 loss in 11 innings to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night at Chase Field. Cincinnati had plenty of chances to secure the win but couldn’t capitalize, most notably when Jose Trevino was thrown out at the plate to end the 10th inning. Elly De La Cruz was a bright spot for the Reds’ offense, delivering two big hits, including a triple and a clutch RBI single. Despite their resilience, the Reds couldn’t come up with the knockout blow and watched the Diamondbacks walk it off in extras.
