The Tampa Bay Rays offense shines in the return to Tropicana field, beating the Cubs 6-4. For the first time in almost 2 years the Rays played a game at Tropicana field and it did not start out great. The Cubs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning. Then the Rays offense would explode from there. It started with a 2 run home run by Cedric Mullins to tie the game. Then Yandy Diaz hit a RBI single to take a 3-2 lead. In the 3rd inning Junior Caminero blasted a no doubt home run to make it a 4-2 lead. The Cubs would add a run in the 6th to make it 4-3. But Jonathan Aranda would deliver the dagger with a huge 2 run homer to make it 6-3. The Cubs would add a run in the 9th but it would be to little to late. Shane McClanahan started for the Rays and was up and down. He went 4 IP striking out 5 but allowed 4 walks and 2 runs. The Rays will look to win their 4th game in a row tomorrow night against the Cubs.

The Rays pick up their first series win of the year, beating the Twins 4-1. For the first time in 4 games the Rays did not open the game with the lead. The Twins took the lead in the 2nd inning with a solo home run to make it 1-0. Rays starter Nick Martinez was lights out after that. He finished going 6 IP only allowing that 1 hit and striking out 4. The Rays offense got on the board with Junior Caminero hitting his first home run in the year in the 4th inning to make it 1-1. No team would score again until extra innings. In extras Richie Palacios hit a monster 2 run homer to make it 3-1. Junior Caminero drew a bases loaded walk to make it 4-1. The Rays bullpen would be lights out late to secure the win. The Rays are back at Tropicana field tomorrow for the first time in almost 2 years to open a 3 game series against the Cubs.
