Join Cass (they/them) and Phaedra (she/her), two queer/trans Ex-Mormon therapists, as they explore how their Mormon upbringing has influenced their jobs, their personal healing, and their outlook on pop culture. As mental health counselors based in Fort Collins, CO, they act as “cultural translators” for anyone curious about Mormon culture, providing a therapeutic and queer lens to unpack and examine these specific roots.

Each episode dives into serious as well as humorous topics—from religious trauma and Ex-Mormonism to cultural commentary, queerness, history, true crime, and mental health issues. Listen as they share their own stories, specialized research on subjects like the troubled teens industry, phrenology, the intersection of sexuality and control, and Mormon-related media (including Real Housewives of SLC and splinter groups like the FLDS).

You can expect honest discussions and humor, but please note that conversations may contain themes of religious trauma, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, fat-phobia, and other “isms”.
