Law is not neutral.
Law draws the lines of power.
Every law either narrows authority or widens it.There is no middle ground.
When law tightly defines what power may do, individuals retain wide space to act on their own judgment.
When law enlarges what power may control, individual space shrinks.
Authority does not expand on its own.It expands through law.
Freedom belongs to the individual. It exists before the system.
Law determines how much of that freedom remains usable inside the system.
Every statute redraws the boundary.Every regulation reshapes the field.
So the real question is never simply, “Is there a law?”
The question is:
Does this law confine power —or does it increase it?
Because wherever power grows, personal room contracts.
And wherever power is tightly bound, freedom has room to breathe.
That is what law actually does.
