With over two decades of programming experience, Sanjay has designed and executed change strategies to advance program outcomes and promote child rights in India, South Asia, and West Africa, across both development and humanitarian contexts. His experience spans five UNICEF offices in India and West Africa, where he has thrived in roles ranging from Social and Behaviour change Specialist to WASH Specialist, Disaster risk reduction and Gender focal points. As an Emergency Specialist, he has adeptly orchestrated disaster risk reduction and mitigation strategies in response to Ebola, floods, drought, cyclones, tsunami, and pandemic influenza outbreaks. He has contributed to drafting the document “Minimum Standards of Education in Emergency Situations.” Grounded in the belief that conversation fosters creative solutions, he is dedicated to balancing both results and relationships.

A brother embarks on a quest to find a solution for his younger sister, born with a nutrition deficiency that stunted her childhood development. Determined to secure her long-term happiness, he stands up against societal challenges to ensure she has a safe and comforting space to grow into as she ages – leaving others inspired. This story is in a content collaboration with ⁠UNICEF India.

The story highlights the importance of Early Childhood Development(ECD). The goal of ECD is that all young children, especially the most vulnerable, from conception to the age of school entry, achieve their developmental potential, including in humanitarian settings.
