Cheryl Amari is an author, bereavement specialist, educator, and hospice volunteer whose work blends professional expertise with personal experience to help people navigate all forms of grief. She is best known for her 2026 book Why I Don’t Wear High Heels When Grieving, a warm, witty, research-informed guide that reframes grief with honesty, humor, and practical tools. We had a wonderful time talking with Cheryl and we learned an awful lot from our discussion. This week we rerun a very special episode from the past! Michael Patterson is a young man in his 20's that has a human interest story to share. He started doing drugs when he was in his teens, was arrested many times and actually spent time in prison.

He is now clean and has made some significant changes in his life! He is focusing on physical and mental health, as well as nutrition and exercise.
