Inventory vs. Price Cuts

The most recent pending home sales data was the worst on record…actually the worst, yet home prices remain elevated despite listing prices being slashed in certain areas? How can they both be true? By the way, where is the avalanche of foreclosures we were told were coming? This might be the most confusing start to a year in, well, years.
