While it is the official stance of the Literal Cat Podcast and official Star Wars brand that Grey Jedi aren't real, they never said anything about making Grey Tabbies into Jedi, and we feel like that's basically the same thing.

We are kinda bastardizing this by saying a cat also did Alchemy in that setting, but in our defense, it was for the bit.
