  • The Life and Afterlife of Mark Twain Redux
    Mar 10 2026

Mark Twain authored some of the most beloved stories in American literature and he lived an amazing life. This was a life of literary genius, but it was also one of financial ruin and immense pain when it came to his family life. He lived in many places and owned several homes with his home in Hartford, Connecticut being his favorite and he said of it that those years were the happiest of his life. Perhaps that is why he seems to have returned there as a spirit. Twain claimed that he didn't believe in all this nonsense about ghosts, but he joined the Society for Psychical Research and read all of their journals. We wonder if he perhaps, may believe in ghosts now. Join us as we explore the life and afterlife of Mark Twain.

  • Ep. 627 - Kennecott Copper Mine
    Mar 5 2026

The Kennecott Copper Mine in Alaska had been one of the richest copper mines in the world. A thriving mining camp developed around the mine, as was the case during the various gold and silver rushes around the country. And just like those rushes, eventually the town was abandoned and what has been left behind quite possibly could be ghosts wandering through the rusted machinery and crumbling buildings. Join us for the history and hauntings of the Kennecott Copper Mine. This Month in History features Houdini's Escapable Dive Suit patent.

Best podcast for haunted history

I listened to a couple episodes, and thought they were boring. I love history, but not the way these women tell it. Then I listened to the most recent (June 28, 2022) episode, and that settled it. They interviewed Mellanie of Veterans Paranormal. What an egotistical, self proclaiming expert she was. When you are a member of a field of study you don't cut down, ridicule, and bash other investigators. Everyone has their own investigation style, but Mellanie quite bluntly pointed out that anyone who believed in some of the top paranormal investigators are stupid. If you like to listen to people talk about how great they are, how smart they are, this is the podcast for you. Open minded paranormal enthusiasts, just pass this one by.

Egotistical, know it alls.
