In this episode, we explore the untamed southern frontier and the origins of the Carolina colony, moving beyond the haunting legacy of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. While King Charles I first formally claimed the territory in 1629 through an ambitious but failed paper empire, the true birth of Carolina was driven by restless Virginian pioneers.
