We all remember the moment we discovered that secret song on one of our favourite albums. Often, those hidden gems provide a revealing peek behind-the-curtain, leading us to new insights about the artists and recordings we thought we knew. CKUA's Hidden Track podcast aims to do the same, by bringing you stories that change the way you experience music. Any given week, we'll get to the heart of the song with the musician who wrote it, reflect on a landmark recording with the producer and engineer who helped shape it, or examine the legacy of a musical icon with the critic, biographer or industry player who knows them best. Whoever the guest may be, each episode will provide a moment of discovery you won't soon forget.CKUA Radio Música

Season 7 of the Hidden Track podcast launches with a conversation and performance by Edmonton duo Jed & the Valentine.

Maria Khaner and Jonah Morris were dating two years before they started writing songs together. They released their first album Awake, in 2024 and their 2025 album In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb, landed on CKUA's top 100!

Maria and Jonah's intertwining harmonies go from soaring to gentle, with lyrics that tell stories of shared laughter and the quiet moments of everyday love.

Take a moment to listen or watch as CKUA's Grant Stovel leads the conversation and even adopts part of their renaissance style.

    Dec 19 2025

Twas the season of giving at fair CKUA
So we gathered some artists, for a Hidden Track Holiday!
In the music library they played, bringing songs of good cheer
To help us close the sixth season, another great year!

They shared festive tall tales and holiday fables
As well as what they love most on their Christmas turntables
So keep a glow in your heart when it's coldest and darkest,
As we're treated to music from these beloved artists:

With Lydia Persaud and Christine Bougie beside her,
You'll soon be serenaded by Serena Ryder!
The Good Lovelies will bring you a joyful noise
As will Jake Vaadeland and his Sturgeon River Boys.

Here they come wassailing in our quaint Christmas corner!
And making CKUA's holidays yet warmer
Is knowing that all of our programming, diverse and assorted

Is thanks to our donors; we are donor supported!

So in this season of giving, we say thanks to you,
The CKUA supporter, for all that you do.
Please accept this offering, and tell
Whoever you think would enjoy it, as well!

To the whole wide world, this merry-making is free!
There's plenty of room 'neath the CKUA tree.
