  • HerStory Episode 58: Yvonne Purvis of Yvonne Purvis - The Diamond Ascension
    May 28 2025

HerStory Episode 58 - Join Kylie King, founder of Australian Ladies in Business Initiative as she talks to Yvonne Purvis of Yvonne Purvis - The Diamond Ascension.Yvonne Purvis is a transformational mentor who guides women to make the conscious decision to change, rewrite their story, and step into the wealth, confidence, and success they desire.

I was a thriving millionaire at 28, independent, confident, and creating a life of success. Then I got married. Over the next 20 years, I gave everything—my time, my energy, my dreams—to my marriage, my family, and everyone else. I became the woman who did everything for others but had nothing left for herself.

Slowly, I lost my power, my identity, my confidence. I was in a controlling marriage, one where my voice, my decisions, and even my sense of self began to fade. I felt unworthy, trapped, and completely disconnected from the woman I used to be.

By the time my separation and divorce came, I was emotionally drained, financially uncertain, and struggling to recognize the woman staring back at me in the mirror. I had to rebuild everything from the ground up—but this time, I was doing it for me.

The Turning Point: Choosing Myself Again

Divorce wasn’t just an ending—it was my awakening. I had a choice: stay in the story of loss, or rewrite my future.

I picked myself up, shifted my identity, reprogrammed my beliefs, and took bold action. I refused to let my past define me. I rebuilt my life, my confidence, and my financial success—not just back to where I was, but to a level I had never reached before.

Now, I empower other women to do the same—to stop waiting, stop doubting, and start becoming the powerful, wealthy, and confident women they were meant to be.

  • HerStory Episode 53: Davina Borrow-Jones of The Mumpreneur Lawyer
    Apr 23 2025

HerStory Episode 53 - Join Kylie King, founder of Australian Ladies in Business Initiative, as she talks to Davina Borrow-Jones of The Mumpreneur Lawyer.

I'm Davina, Founder at The Mumpreneur Lawyer. We help women protect their businesses from legal risk with customised legal documents, reviews and trademarks.

The Mumpreneur Lawyer was inspired by the many women I came across who were unable to find quality legal expertise and the many women who experienced lawyers who were unable to translate complex legal issues into understandable form. It was also inspired by the women who have had to go through their own expensive, and emotionally draining legal battles in courts.

I knew if I could provide simple, flexible legal solutions for women, particularly at the startup stage, they would be empowered for the future success of their businesses.

I have over 20 years legal experience working for Australian and US law firms, and hold a Masters of Law from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Performance Studies from the University of Sydney.

  • HerStory Episode 51: Sarah Sydir of Unemployable the Podcast / The Right Coordination 7
    Apr 9 2025

HerStory Episode 51 - Join Kylie King, founder of Australian Ladies in Business Initiative as she talks to Sarah Sydir of Unemployable the Podcast / The Right Coordination 7.

    Bio:

    Basically, on paper I'm unemployable.

I'm a 47 year old woman with 4 children who has a physical and psychosocial disability - which means sitting at a desk from 9-5, Monday to Friday is quite literally impossible. My son has ASD level 3, a moderate Intellectual Disability and requires 24/7, so also being a carer has forced me to be under employed my entire adult life (I became a mum at 24).

At 40 I had never worked full time, had tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt, so superannuation for retirement, and no bank would give me a loan when our family car died.

The only way out of this that i could see was to create my own business! Just under a year ago I launched the BizABLE Microenterprise Program with a co-founder. This helps train, support and sustain small businesses for people with a disability who have little access to employment or community. My son has his own businesse which he's been supported to run for 2 years now and its been life changing!

Im new to hosting Unemployable the Podcast, a venture with an aim to inspire and amplify Disabled Voices. Brought to you by The Right Coordination BizABLE Program, we hope the narratives shared in "Unemployable" will challenge and reshape perceptions about disability and entrepreneurship. By documenting the journeys of disabled entrepreneurs, we aspire to foster a more inclusive entrepreneurial environment for all.

Through this collection of stories we can help pave the way for future generations of entrepreneurs with a disability, ensuring that their voices and stories are heard and celebrated!
