This week we go back to the 80s and talk Gremlins. We laugh as we go back and remember all the fun and funny things about this movie. We also wanna know if you think this is a Christmas Movie.
Short answer: Yes. Unequivocally. No debate.
Long answer (for the haters):
- Takes place during Christmas ✔️
- Snowy small town covered in lights ✔️
- Christmas gifts literally drive the plot ✔️
- Christmas music plays while monsters commit felonies ✔️
If Die Hard counts, Gremlins definitely counts. The fact that it’s dark, sarcastic, and mildly traumatic just makes it more honest about the holidays. Christmas isn’t always perfect—sometimes it’s awkward, loud, and something catches fire. Very on brand.
Final Verdict:
Gremlins is a Christmas movie for people who like their holiday cheer with sharp teeth and a sense of humor. And frankly, that’s how the ’80s would’ve wanted it.
