  • Episode 42 - Close Encounters
    Jul 8 2014

Welcome back, Flickers! Get pumped for episode 42. Anne and Hannah discuss Jenny Slate's new and refreshing rom-com and then they take a look at the many faces of Glenn Close. Get into it!

    IN THEATERS

Obvious Child - This one shows us that it's not always.

    THEME MOVIES

The Big Chill - What does this title mean? Seriously, Hannah wants to know.

Fatal Attraction - Not Basic Instinct.

Sarah, Plain and Tall - Glenn, Handsome and Famous

Paradise Road - Come to think of it, we're puzzled by this title too. Empty sentamentality--kinda like the movie, itself.

  • Episode 41 - Summer Lovin'
    Jun 22 2014

It's episode 41 of Flick Yeah! As always, summer brings a slew of non-stop movies and Anne and Hannah are doing their best to keep up! Once they realized how much time they were spending staring at the silver screen, they decided to dedicate an entire episode to movies currently in theaters. If you've been wondering which ones to check out and which ones to wait for on DVD, this is the episode for you!

    HONORABLE MENTIONS

Neighbors - Not bad at the drive-in or after a bottle and a half of wine.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - Worth seeing but we're growing a little weary.

Insectula - Our first screening! More to come!

    THEME MOVIES

Godzilla - Rawr! (That's what Godzilla sounds like, right?)

A Million Ways to Die in the West - We should've counted if the movie actually showed a million different ways to die.

Edge of Tomorrow - Surprisingly awesome!

22 Jumpstreet - "My name is Jeff."

  • Episode 39 - Should He Be Back?
    May 16 2014

    It's episode 39! Holy moly!

This week, Anne and Hannah talk about the long-awaited (for them! no irony!) sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man and then delve into another favorite series, Cybernetic Organism. Wait, no, Terminator. Enjoy!

    IN THEATERS

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - They keep remaking these because Spider-Man is the coolest. Duh.

    THEME MOVIES

The Terminator - "I came across time for you, Sarah."

Terminator 2: Judgment Day - "No Problemo." (Hannah feels the need to say that it should be "no problemA" but Eddie Furlong is so darn cute, it's okay.)

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - Is it?

Terminator Salvation - Somehow didn't notice that this was one of those annoying sans-colon sequel titles.

  • Episode 38 - Before They Were Famous
    May 1 2014

In episode 38 of Flick Yeah!, Anne and Hannah discuss some famous actors and their first roles on the silver screen. But first, they kick things off with a movie that won't be standing the test of time, despite featuring some seasoned veterans. Enjoy!

    IN THEATERS

    Transcendence - It's just...not good.

    THEME MOVIES

Carbon Copy (Introducing Denzel Washington) - No surprise Denzel Washington is awesome. He's always been awesome.

Mystic Pizza (Introducing Julia Roberts) - Best friends with Matty D since 1988.

Dazed and Confused (Introducing Matthew McConaughey) - "Alright, alright, alright."

Center Stage (Introducing Zoë Saldana) - "I want to be the best dancer in the world -- but (apparently) not the best actor in the world."

  • Episode 37 - Stealing is Bad. Except When it's Fun.
    Apr 17 2014

Episode 37 is a shorty but a goodie! Listen in as Anne and Hannah discuss Russell Crowe's latest epic and then get some pointers on how to steal things with their heist movie theme. Enjoy!

    IN THEATERS

    Noah - No. Ughhh.

    THEME MOVIES

The Thomas Crown Affair - We might be realizing that we do not, in fact, hate Pierce Brosnan.

Ocean's 11 - Turns out there's not much to say. This movie is just great.

The Italian Job - If for some reason you are unable to watch Ocean's 11, this is a decent enough substitute.

The Town - Not really a heist movie. Not really a great movie either.

  • Episode 36 - What Do You Think, Ms. Bechdel?
    Apr 3 2014

You're in for a treat with episode 36! Hannah's sister Caitlin joins us in the studio this week and we discuss women in film and whether or not the Bechdel Test really measures up. Enjoy!

    IN THEATERS

The Grand Budapest Hotel - Yay, Wes Anderson!

    THEME MOVIES

Little Women - We somehow managed to have a mildly objective discussion about this one.

Charlie's Angels - Gah, this movie is the worst!

The Mists of Avalon - I get misty just holding your hand.

The Women - "It's all about men!"

  • Episode 35 - The Fountain of Eternal Podcasting
    Mar 21 2014

Thanks for waiting, ya'll! We were burnt out after the Oscars but we're back and better than ever. We picked a theme we've been talking about for a while and now officially believe we will live to podcast forever. Oh, and also Jesus and Elvis are both still alive. Maybe we'll have them on the show at some point.

    IN THEATERS

Non-Stop - Stolen from Doug Loves Movies, this movie is even more fun when you imagine it's the flight Liam Neeson takes to save his daughter in Taken.

    THEME MOVIES

Death Becomes Her - It certainly does. Meryl Streep is a babe.

The Fountain - We're not entirely confident that we get this movie.

The Man from Earth - Low budget but interesting.

The Wolverine - Something about bad ass chicks.
