Through the “flash” of His light, He exposes what is still powered by self and reveals what must come fully under the government of His Spirit. Nancy reminds us that the cross doesn’t just deal with obvious sin but also with the subtle independence of the soul—the self-driven good that still resists full dependence on the Father.
