Acerca de esta escucha

Renowned chef and humanitarian José Andrés shares tales about his upbringing in Spain, where croquettes, paellas, bread crumbs, and fire taught him valuable life lessons. After ruminating on the impact his parents had on him, José jumps into the kitchen with Michele to show her - and listeners - how to cook a favorite recipe of his: his mother’s roasted red peppers.

José Andrés is a Spanish-American chef and owner of several renowned restaurants across the country. He’s known for bringing the concept of tapas to America, his avant-garde dishes, and his continuing humanitarian work: In 2010, he founded the World Central Kitchen in response to the Haiti earthquake and has since organized meals in or in support of Cuba, Uganda, and most recently, Ukraine. In 2015, he was appointed by President Obama as an ambassador for citizenship and naturalization. In 2022, he was appointed by President Biden as a Co-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.
