Before African fashion became global, some visionaries were already shaping its future.
In this episode of TIMELESS with Teddy, Ghanaian fashion designer Tetteh Plahar shares the story behind his groundbreaking journey in fashion.
Known for his signature label TPD, Tetteh Plahar began designing at just 12 years old — long before African wear became widely embraced by a younger generation. At a time when many across Ghana and Africa were drawn to Western fashion trends, TP was quietly sewing pieces that would later inspire a cultural shift back to African identity and style.
From showcasing his first fashion collection in 1996 to designing for politicians and notable figures around the world, his work continues to break boundaries while celebrating African creativity.
In this conversation with Teddy Abrokwa, TP reflects on family, passion, discipline and the lifelong desire to keep learning and evolving as a creative.
A story about vision, culture and the courage to create something ahead of its time.
