I’ve struggled with a lot of this myself. So, as I continue to heal my own inner demons, I also observe the actions, words, and mannerisms of others. I’m no expert at all but find this to be both intriguing and overall demoralizing. I used AI, a few articles, social media responses and my own thoughts and observations in this episode to help understand why many people (including myself) are in an anxious, irritable state and how to go about changing that.
Semi-spoiler: Look inward as opposed to shouting for everyone else to change in order to fit our own personal improbable life utopia.
Partial solution: Realize that we have a very concrete view of ourselves both consciously and subconsciously. However, every single person we know has a completely different view of us. It’s a humbling realization that no matter how hard we try to portray a specific persona, literally everyone, even those closest to us, will develop their own perception of us. This occurs through their own conditioning, past experiences, perceptions and thought processes coming together to form an altered opinion of the person we stare at daily in the mirror.
Let that be freeing rather than frustrating. We should be ourselves and relinquish the tiresome effort of portraying a character in life. Let them all think what they’d like…and be ok with that. Genuinely.
