There are two “characters” we all have inside our minds: an inner critic and an inner nurturer. Dr. Hanson and Forrest focus on how we can manage our inner critic while building up a strong inner nurturer. I feel like the title for this episode should be "Empowering Your Inner Nurturer". Rick and Forrest do have a valuable discussion about managing one's inner critic. However, Rick's detailed concept of an inner nurturer, how to build it up, and the positive effects it can have on oneself and the people around you, was the most exciting and innovative part of the episode for me.
