Howdy y’all and welcome to another episode of the EEARSS by Alligator Robb Podcast, produced by Terrier TV at Titusville High School. In Season 5, Episode 8 we talk with Sandra Leone of the Waterway Warriors.

The Waterway Warriors are a passionate group dedicated to cleaning and protecting the waterways all along Florida’s Space Coast — including the Indian and Banana Rivers. They’re hosting a ribbon-cutting event this Saturday at 8 a.m. at Kayak Beach on SR 528 (Banana River) to celebrate all the incredible work they’re doing for our environment. Make plans to join them and support their mission to keep our waterways clean and thriving.

They’ve adopted miles along SR 528 and host regular cleanups of the Indian River Lagoon and Banana River embankments — engaging volunteers of all ages to help restore and sustain our coastal ecosystems.

    Oct 16 2025

Howdy y’all and welcome to the EEARSS by Alligator Robb Podcast produced by Terrier TV at Titusville High School. Season 5 Episode 6 features Miriam Boucher.

Miriam is a conservationist and wildlife biologist (AWB) with over a decade of experience in environmental monitoring and wildlife management. Her work spans the non-profit, government, industry, and academic sectors—from the dense jungles of Belize to the industrial landscapes of her native Alberta.

She is currently a doctoral researcher at Clemson University’s Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology and Forest Science, where her studies focus on alligator diet and ecotoxicology, examining how pollutants like microplastics and PFAS affect aquatic ecosystems and sentinel species. Miriam’s extensive field experience includes years with the Crocodile Research Coalition in Belize, conducting behavioral and population studies on American crocodiles, as well as research on distress call variation and innovative handling tools such as “Conquering the Crush: A Novel Tool for Holding Crocodilian Jaws Open,” published in the Wildlife Society Bulletin.

Before pursuing her PhD, Miriam worked in Alberta as an environmental consultant, leading wildlife mitigation and reptile monitoring projects for large-scale industrial developments. Her passion for reptiles and her advocacy for inclusion in science have made her a respected and relatable voice in wildlife conservation.
