The drive-in theater, also known as the "ozoner," was first invented in 1933 by Richard Hollingshead Jr. in Camden, New Jersey. Hollingshead was an auto parts salesman who wanted to create a new type of theater experience that would appeal to families and offer a more comfortable and convenient way to watch movies.
